For over 30 years, the ornamental garden has been transformed, emphasising bold planting and whimsical elements. The creativity is evident in unique and playful arrangements, ensuring the 6.5-acre garden has new quirks every season, all through the efforts of the Yeo Valley Organic Garden team.

From flowers in full bloom to a cosy garden tearoom, there’s plenty to discover at the Yeo Valley Organic Garden. That said, there is even more to the garden than meets the eye….

Read on to unearth 10 facts you didn’t know about the garden:

  1. 30,000 bulbs are planted a year.

  2. Although sadly we can’t allow dogs in the garden, except assistance doggies, we do have two very naughty pugs, who run amuck once we are closed for the season.

  3. Once outside, the farm’s herd of pedigree British Friesians walk around the HaHa lawn four times a day.

  4. Roam free around the garden, and you may notice a famous egg from our 2021 appearance at the first autumnal RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Garden designer, Tom Massey and our very own, Sarah Mead worked on creating an organic garden winning Gold and the People’s Choice Award. Peek inside the egg, and you may be surprised what you find.

  5. 1000 of Chef Marc’s legendary sausage rolls are eaten each season.

  6. 12 bottles of suncream are used by the Garden Team during the season.

  7. 10 bottles of rosé are consumed by the tearoom team when we close at the end of the season.

  1. You may recognise different parts of the garden: the large greenhouse and our shop were used as sets for series 1 of BBC TV show – Your Garden Made Perfect, hosted by Angela Scanlan.

  2. Angela Scanlon also revisited the Yeo Valley Organic Garden to meet her Strictly Come Dancing dance partner, Carlos Gu for the first time.

  3. (And of course!) our first ever three-day festival is taking place this September.
