One Week to Go, and the Last of the Tickets are up for Grabs!
It's just a week until the second Yeo Valley Organic Garden Festival!
Three days, one organic garden and a line-up bursting with some of gardening’s brightest voices. Arit Anderson, Frances Tophill, Poppy Okotcha, Arthur Parkinson, John Little and Dave Goulson and many more are all heading to Yeo Valley for a joyful celebration of real gardening - mud, mistakes, wildlife and all!
We sold out last year, so if you’ve been meaning to join us, now is the moment.
Why We're Doing This
Sarah and the team have spent more than 30 years growing this garden organically, without chemical fertilisers or pesticides. And if there’s one thing three decades teach you, it’s that organic gardening isn’t about getting everything right. It’s about watching, learning, getting it wrong sometimes and trying again…always working with nature, rather than fighting against it or trying to bend it to your will.
This year especially, after a summer of extreme heat and hosepipe bans across our region, it feels like time to think differently about how we garden. Not in theory and not in a glossy magazine. We wanted the festival to be somewhere people could come and actually see what resilient gardening looks like in practice, in an actual working garden, rubble beds and all.
Because here's what we think matters: everyone deserves a garden, or a windowsill, or a few pots, that works for them and for the wildlife around them, whatever their budget, experience or square footage. You don't need acres. You don't need it perfect. You just need to start!
What's On!
Across the three days, you'll hear from brilliant speakers (full line up here) like Arit Anderson, Poppy Okotcha, Arthur Parkinson, Frances Tophill, John Little and bee specialist Dave Goulson, real experts, but talking in plain English, not garden jargon!
There are Bee Safaris to join, live art from our resident artist Natasha Clutterbuck, wonderful traders and plant stalls to browse, music to listen to and delicious food to eat!
Each day has its own flavour!
Thursday 17th is all biodiversity and climate resilience
Friday 18th is about colour and creativity in the garden
Saturday 19th is more of a practical, hands-on, "how do I actually do this" day!
And whatever day you come, you'll be walking round a real, lived-in organic garden, not a show garden built for a weekend and torn down afterwards!
Why Now?!
The festival is next week, 17th –19th September, and we sold out completely last year, and we're not printing infinite tickets this time either. If any of this has struck a chord, whether you're a total beginner, a seasoned allotment-holder, or just someone who fancies a lovely day out in Somerset, this is genuinely your last chance to grab a ticket before the gates open.
🚪 The garden is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10am–5pm, right through to the last Saturday in October. No need to pre-book, just turn up.
🎨 Natasha Clutterbuck's last workshop of the season – October 2nd, 'In the Veg Patch', an expressive charcoal drawing day that incorporates colour. 10am–4pm, £75/person. Book your place here.
