Chris Smith has been involved in horticulture for many years, setting up Pennard Plants in 2001. At first, it was a general herbaceous grower but in 2006 it switched to growing edible plants, and by 2010, maintained this as their main interest. Pennard Plants have exhibited at all the major flower shows with their final Gold Medal at Chelsea in 2021 when they gave up the shows and became ‘mail order’ only. Apart from growing and selling huge range of edible plants from herbs to fruit trees, Pennard Plants also offer around 600 varieties of seeds to home-growers.
